FAA Part 141 Flight Training Across the Country

Academy of Aviation operates career pilot training campuses across New York, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina — and through our SunState brand in California and Florida. Every campus runs the same FAA Part 141 curriculum, the same airline partnership programs, and the same glass cockpit fleet. Find your campus below.

Flight School — Farmingdale, NY

AOA's flagship Long Island campus. Based at Republic Airport, the third busiest general aviation airport in New York State. Students train inside New York Class B airspace alongside JFK and LaGuardia traffic from day one — building the ATC precision and situational awareness that airlines hire for. Home of the Delta Propel and Republic Airways RJet cadet programs.

Farmingdale Campus →

Flight School — White Plains, NY

Based at Westchester County Airport — a commercial service airport inside the New York Class B airspace structure. Students at White Plains train in one of the most complex urban airspace environments in the country, with direct access to the Hudson Valley and the full NYC metro corridor.

White Plains Campus →

Flight School — Islip, NY

Based at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Suffolk County. KISP handles active commercial and general aviation traffic, giving students a balanced training environment with real airline operations on the same field. Central Long Island location serves students across the eastern half of the island.

Islip Campus →

Flight School — Gastonia, NC

Based at Gastonia Municipal Airport in the Charlotte metro area. Students train in the North Carolina Piedmont with access to Charlotte Douglas International's airspace environment — one of the Southeast's most active commercial aviation hubs. Year-round flying weather and a growing regional aviation career market.

Gastonia Campus →

Flight School — Peachtree City, GA

Based at Falcon Field in Peachtree City — inside the Atlanta approach environment and close to Delta Air Lines' global headquarters. Students train in Georgia's excellent year-round flying weather with direct exposure to Atlanta's Class B airspace. The Delta Propel program is especially relevant here: Atlanta is Delta's home market.

Peachtree City Campus →

Flight School — Orlando, FL

Based at Orlando Executive Airport near downtown Orlando. KORL handles a genuine mix of corporate jets, turboprops, and general aviation — giving students real multi-traffic ATC exposure adjacent to Orlando International's Class B airspace. Year-round Florida flying weather keeps training schedules on track.

Orlando Campus →

Flight School — Kissimmee, FL

SunState's flagship campus and one of Central Florida's most established career pilot programs, operating at Kissimmee Gateway Airport since 2002. 16,000 sq ft training center, Cessna 172S G1000 fleet, Diamond DA42 Twin Star multi-engine aircraft, and full-motion simulator on site. Delta Propel and RJet pathways available.

Kissimmee Campus →

Flight School — Long Beach, CA

SunState based at Long Beach Airport in Los Angeles County. KLGB is a commercial service airport inside the LAX Class B airspace structure — one of the most demanding training environments in the country. Southern California's marine layer provides genuine instrument conditions, and the geography of the LA Basin adds real cross-country complexity.

Long Beach Campus →

Flight School — San Diego, CA

SunState is opening a new campus at Gillespie Field in El Cajon — San Diego County's primary general aviation hub. San Diego offers 330-plus flyable days per year, complex military and Class B airspace, and coastal and mountain terrain for serious cross-country training. Join the interest list for first access to enrollment.

Republic Airways Logo
The Republic Airways RJet Cadet Program empowers Academy of Aviation pilots to launch and advance their careers with Delta Air Lines, United Airlines®, and American Airlines. Cadets who meet the program requirements receive mentorship, priority hiring status, and a direct path to the right seat of a regional jet.

As part of enrollment, you'll complete an availability form so we can create the most effective schedule for you. Full-time students typically have at least five training sessions per week, while part-time students average three to four sessions. No matter your pace, staying consistent is the key to reaching your goals.

Financing information is available through independent third-party lenders, including Sallie Mae®. Students may choose to use lender financing, pay partially out of pocket, or cover training costs without financing.

Monthly payment options may also be available depending on the program. Academy of Aviation does not provide loans or make credit decisions; all loan terms, approvals, and requirements are determined solely by the lender.

Ground school is a comprehensive learning environment that combines classroom-based instruction, one-on-one sessions with an instructor, and online self-study. It provides students with a strong foundation in core aviation theory. We offer free daily group ground school every day from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. (Schedule may vary based on student rating.) Attendance is optional but strongly encouraged.

Our flight training is one-on-one with your own instructor. This means you get personal attention and lessons designed just for you. You'll learn at your own pace with support every step of the way, helping you build confidence and skills safely.

Our fleet includes the Cessna 172 G1000 (glass cockpit) for single-engine training, and the Diamond DA42 for multi-engine training. Both aircraft are equipped with modern avionics and maintained to the highest safety standards.
