Financing Information →Academy of Aviation's Orlando campus is based at Orlando Executive Airport (KORL), a towered, active-use airport just east of downtown Orlando in the heart of Orange County. KORL handles a genuine mix of corporate jets, turboprops, and general aviation traffic, giving students real multi-aircraft ATC exposure from day one. The campus draws students from downtown Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland, College Park, and the greater north and central Orlando corridor.
As Ian, a student at this campus, puts it: "Orlando Exec is just a cool place, there's tons of different types of planes flying in and out, so if you're an aviation enthusiast, you'll definitely enjoy the experience."
Orlando Executive sits directly adjacent to Orlando International's Class B airspace, one of the Southeast's most active commercial aviation environments and one of the busiest airports in the United States. Cross-country and instrument training from KORL includes regular coordination with Orlando Approach, building the airspace awareness and radio precision that airline hiring departments look for.
Florida's year-round flying weather and minimal weather cancellations make KORL one of the most efficient training environments in the country. More flyable days means faster progress toward certification.
The Orlando campus offers a full FAA Part 141 career pilot program. The structured curriculum covers every rating on the airline pathway: Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, and Certified Flight Instructor ratings including CFI, CFII, and MEI.
Central Florida has one of the most active general aviation communities in the country. Orlando Executive Airport alone hosts hundreds of flight operations daily across corporate, charter, training, and private categories.
Training in this environment means you are not working in isolation. You are part of a real aviation ecosystem where professional pilots, corporate operators, and career-track students share the same airspace every day. That context accelerates the transition from student pilot to professional pilot in ways that quieter training environments cannot replicate.
The Orlando campus offers the Delta Propel pathway. Academy of Aviation is one of only four Delta Propel affiliate flight schools in the United States. Students who earn their CFI ratings and instruct at AOA can apply to Delta Propel once they are within 12 months of meeting R-ATP or ATP requirements. Selection is competitive, but once accepted, the path is defined and guaranteed: a single Propel interview is the only interview required, and selected applicants receive a Qualified Job Offer from Delta that carries them through Endeavor Air, a Delta Connection carrier, to the Delta Air Lines flight deck. See the full Delta Propel pathway.
Academy of Aviation also participates in the Republic Airways RJet Cadet Program, a pathway to Republic Airways, one of the largest regional carriers in the country, which flies for American, United, and Delta.

Florida's year-round flying weather is one of the strongest arguments for training in Central Florida. Minimal weather cancellations and consistent VFR conditions mean more flyable days per year, fewer schedule interruptions, and a faster path to certification compared to northern markets.
Yes. Academy of Aviation holds an FAA Part 141 Air Agency Certificate. Part 141 is the structured, curriculum-based training standard required by most airline hiring programs and allows you to test for your commercial certificate with fewer hours than the Part 61 minimum.
